Back in 1888, the National Geographic Society was founded and over time became one of the world's largest non-profit scientific and educational organizations, which funded more than 10,000 scientific researches for the preservation of the Earth around the planet. Through various media channels, including magazines, films, TV and radio channels, interactive media, the Society's mission reaches as many as 450 million people per month.
The mission is simple to inspire people to take care of their planet. Since its founding, National Geographic has managed to raise awareness of the importance of natural places, as well as the plants and wildlife that inhabit those places and the environmental problems that threaten them.
As you already know, Serbia has had its own edition of the most famous magazine in the world for seven years, which in every issue brings you incredible reports from all over the world with photos that take your breath away. National Geographic Serbia is the twenty-ninth international edition of the iconic magazine, which has brought our country into the company of the privileged who, in their own language, can reach all the meridians with a unique view through the famous yellow frame.
In addition to the magazine, there is also a National Geographic Serbia website that will contribute to a better understanding of the Society's mission, improve communication and through new literacy, which the Internet certainly is, bring the magazine closer to all intelligent and curious people. Also on the website you can find current and interesting news from all areas sciences, such as cosmos, physics, chemistry and many others.
We deeply believe that National Geographic Serbia will present our country - a small, but the most valuable pearl of the Balkans - in the best way, while respecting the fact that we are only a part of the beautiful blue planet and as the poet Maklish would say: "...we should see ourselves as companions, brothers on that shining loveliness in the eternal cold—brothers who now know that they are truly brothers."
