060609, the single Chiama Taxi number in Rome, uses a new system that makes calling a taxi easier and faster thanks to direct telephone contact (VOIP) between the user and the nearest taxi driver.
The system, already active, has been completely renewed thanks to the use of vocal technologies for the recognition of street names, thus enriching the public service which in Rome has around 8,000 taxis.
Once the Chiama Taxi 060609 Customer App has identified your position via GPS, it finds and calls the nearest taxi at the cost of data traffic only. The nearest taxi will be able to estimate the arrival time so the wait will be shorter, as will the amount on the meter.
The service first searches for the taxi park closest to the address provided by the user by sending the call directly to the column. If there are no taxis available at the car park, the call is transferred to the free taxi closest to the address provided by the user.
