Hasni Chakroun alias Cheb hasni born in 1968 in the popular district of Oran in Algeria. All the people who knew Hasni quickly noticed his sincerity, his calm and his shyness.
The first title of Hasni recorded at the age of 18 was a duo with Cheba Zehouania entitled "El Baraka M'rennika". "Le Rossignol du Raï" as we nicknamed it released 150 albums including "Galou Hasni Met" and "Gaa Nssa".
Hasni was assassinated by the FIS extremists (Islamic Salvation Front) in 1994, and was buried in the Aïn Beïda cemetery of Oran.
